Pelagic Birding Tour

Our Half Day Pelagic (Ocean) Bird Tour (3hrs) generally departs at 9am and 1pm daily
and includes a scenic birding tour of the Muttonbird Islands. Ocean birds you
may see include Albatross, Yellow-Eyed and Little Blue penguins, Cormorants, Petrels,
Terns and more. Dolphin and penguin spotting is also a highlight of this tour. The
fare for this tour is $NZD130 per adult, and we have a minimum fare of 3 adults.

All our half and full day tours include fresh cake, ground coffee and tea for morning or afternoon
tea. And the boat is very comfortable, with an onboard toilet, heated enclosed
cabin, lounge-style seating, full bird identification guides and a fully
covered viewing deck. There is also ample viewing space from within the
comfortable cabin.

We specialise in highly
personalised tours with small groups, and generally have a maximum of 8 people
on our birding tours. Your skipper Matt has 20 years’ experience in nautical
tourism, and is a local Stewart Islander.
